David J. Calandro, CPCU, AIC
Vice PresidentMr. Calandro has worked in the Casualty/Insurance industry for over 23 years. After graduating from Illinois State University, he spent his first 6 years working as an investigator/legal assistant for a couple of Illinois law firms that concentrated their practice in
personal injury, including workers compensation. He spent his first two years with a plaintiff’s firm and the next four years with a defense firm. He then worked as a claim
representative for Kemper Insurance Companies in the Chicagoland area.
For the next 17 years, Mr. Calandro held several positions with Kemper including: Claim Representative, Team Manager, Division Examiner and Workers’ Compensation Claim Manager. As a Manager, he was responsible for the establishment of technical claim procedures and practices countrywide.
Additionally, he and his direct reports provided oversight and
co-management of the more complex workers compensation and
employer liability claims.
Throughout his career, Mr. Calandro has acquired a full range of experience and knowledge in the casualty insurance business. He maintains a commitment to professionalism, thoroughness and a strong desire to deliver the best service possible to every client. His proven leadership style provides an excellent approach to claims handling techniques that enable the adjuster to achieve effective case resolution.
In addition to earning his B.S. degree, Mr. Calandro holds the CPCU and AIC designations and is an active course instructor with the Insurance School of Chicago.
